Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data TestMyIQ (“we”, “us”) collects when you use testmyiq.co, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We have deliberately kept the service lean: we use no cookies, and no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking of any kind.
Who we are
TestMyIQ provides a recreational, IQ-style cognitive benchmark. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@testmyiq.co.
Operator: Odd Hours Ltd, 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk).
Information we collect
We only collect what the service needs to work:
- Your test responses and results. The answers you give, how long you took, and the score, percentile and category breakdown we compute from them.
- Your email address — only if you provide it. Used to send your receipt and a link back to your result, and, if you choose passwordless login, to send you a one-time sign-in code so you can revisit your past results. Giving an email is optional; you can take the test and see your band without one.
- Payment information. When you unlock your full report, payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their hosted checkout. We never receive or store your card number — we only receive confirmation from Stripe that a payment succeeded, and a reference for it.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting and API providers process standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs, as is necessary to operate and secure any website.
How we use it, and our legal bases
- To run the test, compute and store your result, and show it to you — on the basis of performing our contract with you.
- To take payment and unlock your report — performing our contract, and complying with our legal obligations (for example, keeping records for tax and accounting).
- To send transactional email (receipts, result links, login codes) — performing our contract and your request.
- To keep the service secure and working — our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and diagnosing faults.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use cookies, and we do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, session recording or any other third-party tracker. Because of this the site does not show a cookie-consent banner — there is nothing to consent to.
If you use passwordless login, we store a single login token in your browser’s local storage. This is strictly functional — it keeps you signed in so you can view your past results — and is not used to track you. Signing out or clearing your browser storage removes it.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers (“processors”) needed to run TestMyIQ:
- Stripe — processes your payment. Stripe collects your payment details directly under its own privacy policy; we do not see them.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts the application and stores your result data.
- Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) — delivers the transactional emails described above.
We may also disclose data if required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, users or the security of the service.
Where your data is stored
Your result data is stored in AWS data centres in the United Kingdom (London region). Payment processing with Stripe may involve transfers outside the UK/EEA; where that happens it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
How long we keep it
- Login codes and sign-in sessions expire automatically after a short period and are then deleted.
- Your result and any email are kept so you can return to your result and, where applicable, for the payment records we are legally required to retain. You can ask us to delete them at any time (see your rights below).
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EEA, the UK GDPR and GDPR give you the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Similar rights apply in some other regions.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@testmyiq.co — we aim to respond within 30 days. Because a result link is not tied to an account unless you add an email, please include the relevant result link or the email address you used so we can locate your data.
Children
TestMyIQ is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the “last updated” date at the top, and, where appropriate, notify you.
